So far, kava is consumed socially for its sedative, hypnotic, muscle relaxant, anxiolytic, and euphoric effects, comparable to those produced by alcohol.
Caution: be aware not to mix it with alcohol, (#1) as kava may deplete glutathione, a crucial liver antioxidant, and interfere with liver enzyme activity. Makes liver more vulnerable to alcohol toxicity.
According to in vitro research, the pharmacological effects of kava stem primarily from six major kavalactones that modulate GABAA, dopamine, norepinephrine. “Azura” Is currently self-experimenting with kava, bacause of the effects mentioned above. The successful outcome of this experiment could contribute into a human overall health and most definately will be published here then.

"Azura" experiemced the benifits of drinking kava for over two weeks now. It has proven to be a perfect substatude for social drinkers and down times. However, not recomended for heavy alchohol consumers, as kava on its own "won't get them there". If mixed with alchochol, it could potentialy damage the liver more then drinking alhohol on it's own for the reasons discribed earlier (#1).
Enjoy the benefits of this remarkable natural substance, however consider consulting with a healthcare professional to ensure it is appropriate for your individual needs.
